#ABOUT

From 2022 to 2025, Paul Marchiset was part of the WebTV project at IUT Nord Franche-Comté, a student-run initiative supervised by two teachers. Over three years I grew within the team and discovered a real passion for filming and directing. WebTV produced and broadcast live events including the Science Festival and three IUT Open Days, immersing me in live production and a range of technical roles. As director, I played a pivotal role in preparing and running the set: anticipating guests' arrivals, preparing the cameras and adjusting color grading for a consistent, professional look. Live broadcasts were usually handled with four robotic cameras and one fixed camera, demanding constant attention to give viewers the best possible shot — precise angle selection and continuous coordination, including with the robotic camera operator, a role I also took on. I even taught myself sound mixing for the final Open Day, with each event running 6–7 hours of continuous live streaming before setup and breakdown — experiences that taught me to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Over the years I also trained newer students in directing and camera operation — rewarding, educational work. WebTV let me strengthen my technical skills as a videographer and director while developing management and pedagogy, fully embracing a collaborative, continuous approach.
