Centre Marchiset: a branding system defined by geometric rigor and accuracy

#ABOUT

For this fictional branding project, I created a visual identity for the Centre Marchiset, a photography museum. Having studied the Centre Pompidou's branding, I created a bespoke graphic universe for the museum, comprising a monochrome logo, typographic charter and grid system. My goal was to ensure strong visual consistency while enabling anyone creating materials for the centre to do so in a simple and clear way. To reinforce this consistency, I developed a comprehensive style guide. This document brings together all the graphic rules, including the use of the logo and its 'Exposure Prism' symbol, the typographic hierarchy using the Gotham and Work Sans fonts, the 10-column grid system and the integration of specific graphic elements, such as the 'Strip Frame Rectangle' and 'Cutted Gotham'. The guide also specifies the photographic approach and its key role in the museum's communication. Finally, I applied these principles to various practical applications, such as posters, leaflets, the website and other visual media. These demonstrate how the charter can be used creatively while respecting the established rules. The result is professional, structured branding that highlights the museum and its identity, ensuring a harmonious visual experience regardless of the medium.
