Centre Marchiset: a branding system defined by geometric rigor and accuracy

#ABOUT

For this fictional branding project, Paul Marchiset created the visual identity of the Centre Marchiset, a photography museum. Drawing on a study of the Centre Pompidou's branding, I built a bespoke graphic universe as a brand designer: a monochrome logo, a typographic charter and a grid system. The goal was strong visual consistency that anyone producing materials for the centre could apply simply and clearly. To reinforce that consistency I developed a comprehensive style guide gathering every graphic rule — the logo and its "Exposure Prism" symbol, the typographic hierarchy built on Gotham and Work Sans, the 10-column grid, and signature elements such as the "Strip Frame Rectangle" and "Cutted Gotham." The guide also defines the photographic approach and its central role in the museum's communication. Finally, I applied these principles across practical media — posters, leaflets, the website and more — showing how the charter can be used creatively while respecting its rules. The result is professional, structured branding that elevates the museum's identity and ensures a harmonious visual experience across every medium.
